wwwdot.wtf

WWW. Dot. What the actual website.

You wanted a website. Somehow you now have six logins, three renewal notices, and a menu called “Untitled 4.”

It started with “this should be simple.”

A very normal sentence, often found near the beginning of a very abnormal afternoon. There are themes. Plugins. Settings inside settings. A button to publish, and another button that also seems to publish but in a different emotional state.

Let’s get back to the actual point.

Someone wants to know what your business does. You want them to call, message, or request an estimate. We can start there and decide what the page genuinely needs. The font dropdown does not get to chair this meeting.

Leave with something useful

Translate the website conversation into human.

You can ask what something does before paying for the thing with the impressive name.

  1. Write down the term you don’t understand.
  2. Ask what job it performs on your particular website.
  3. Ask whether that job is needed for your first version.
  4. Ask about its cost and who controls it.
  5. Ask what happens if you stop using it.
Take the prompt. Try it yourself.
